Text Box: There are many exciting ministries and missions happening at St. Peter’s Church. I encourage you to find those that fit your gifts and passions and get involved. It is your chance to experience the wonderful joy that comes from doing work for God’s glory. Thank you to all of you who are already involved and experiencing the benefits.
You read in Pastor Craig’s letter about a program called “Simply Giving” and his families pledge to take advantage of this program. You will be hearing more details about this program. Betty and I have not participated in this program in the past and a reason is that we knew we would feel guilty if we didn’t put something in the collection plate on Sunday. Dale Snesrud suggested a way to deal with this Lutheran problem at the last council meeting and it certainly made sense to us. The idea is to use the “free” Simply Giving program to contribute say 90% of what we intend to give on a weekly basis, the balance to be put in our weekly envelope so we can feel good when we place something in the collection plate on Sundays. Betty and I are also signing up for this program. We will have a new associate pastor soon and it is even more important that a dependable flow of contributions be received on a weekly basis. Each one of us depends on a predictable flow of money either from our employer or from social security in order to pay our bills and St. Peter’s depends on each member of the congregation in the same way. Please prayerfully consider using this free service to create a more consistent flow of contributions to our church.
                                                                                                           Your Church Council President,
                                                                                                                                 Mike Chapman

The annual NEW gathering continues the relationship among women in many congregations in the Northfield area to celebrate their diversity and the common bond that existed among them for over 55 years in Church Women United (CWU). In 1999, upon the dissolution of the local CWU unit, the board determined to meet on the first
Saturday in May each year to renew friendships and share a common worship/learning experience.

The Fellowship of the Least Coin offering is sent to Church Women United to fund project worldwide helping women and children.

Come for good food and good company! For more information call Hazel Peterson at 645-9276 or Phyllis Swanson at 645-4231.
Thanks!!!
