Text Box: Goals and Dreams for 2008

It was suggested to me that I share what my goals are for this year. There are too many to include them all in an article. To achieve any goals requires the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit. So everyone needs to pray that God sends the Holy Spirit to guide all of us in our ministries.

One of Ellie’s goals from last year was to review and update our constitution. That still needs to be done. A team is being formed to do the project. If you would like to serve on this team let me know and you will be on that team.

The calling of an Associate Pastor needs to be completed soon. There is a long range planning committee working on a revision of the long range plan. If you have ideas for this committee please make them known.

The boards and teams that work on specific ministries need more team members. So I encourage all members of our congregation that are not involved in the work of St. Peter’s to give serious prayer and thought to what ministries they are either gifted for or passionate about and then to join the appropriate teams. For those already involved please note that there is no limit on the number of ministries that you can participate in. We are all called as Christians to be disciples.

Another goal that impacts all that we do is to continue implementing the equipping ministry concept. Doesn’t it inspire you to know that you are being asked to decide not only what your gifts are but what you are passionate about! And then use those gifts and passions in a ministry that takes full advantage of them! I can’t think of a better or more rewarding way to become involved in God’s work. The Associate Pastor will play a major role in leading the equipping ministry effort.

One last goal that comes from talking with Pastor Craig is to have everyone truly believe that their opinion is valued. Everyone is asked to share their ideas, opinions and concerns and know that they will be heard. We need to communicate openly with one another with love and understanding. Accurate communication that would be yet another goal.

There are many exciting things happening at St. Peter’s! I see enthusiasm and positive possibilities. We can build on all of these positive things and have a church congregation that is full of the fire of the Holy Spirit and “sold out” to doing God’s work!

Yours in Christ,
Mike Chapman
President of the Congregation
Text Box: Call Committee Update for March

We have completed our initial interviews. We have been blessed with candidates who make it difficult because they are all gifted pastors. We are in the process of making visits to hear them preach and setting up 2nd interviews with those that we felt could be great pastors for St. Peter’s congregation. Our goal continues to be finishing the process no later than May and hopefully much sooner. We appreciate your continued prayers until we reach the point that we are ready to call one of these candidates. As always if you have questions or want more information feel free to contact me or any member of the call committee.

Yours in Christ,
Mike Chapman
