PASTOR’S DESK: At our last Church Council meeting, I used some of my reporting time to ask our Council four questions. Next, we took time to discuss the answers in small groups, and then, to share them with the whole group. I’d like to ask you the same four questions.
Maybe, this is something you’d like to do with your family or with a friend over coffee. In any case, I’d love to hear your answers.
Please e-mail Pastor Craig your answers. Here are the questions:
1) What is your most meaningful memory of St. Peter’s?
2) What first attracted you to St. Peter’s?
3) Can you describe your earliest experience of church?
4) How is St. Peter’s different from or the same as the church you remember going to as a child?
When I talk to people new to St. Peter’s and to people who have been here for a while, here are some of the impressions they share of our congregation:
“ Friendly, Welcoming, Spirit-filled, Enjoys celebrating meaningful events, Real,
Genuine, Emphasis on family and youth, Openness, Supportive, Mission-minded.”
If you come up with answers to any or to all of these questions, I would like to hear what you have to say. Please mail them to me at church at 418 E. Sumner, Northfield, Mn. 55057 or to my e-mail address at: craigellingboe@charter.net
I look forward to hearing from you. Lent has traditionally been a time for us to contemplate our faith and what church means to us. And, in a very few weeks, we will experience once again, the thrilling story of Easter.
By the way, if you like I also have a fifth question. “What topic would you like to hear covered in a sermon?”
See you in church! Pastor Craig
