Outreach

Please call the office if you would like to help with any of these outreach areas.

Also, if you know of a St. Peter's outreach program or project and it is not listed here, please call the church office at 645-8252 and we'll get it listed, here!

LUV Ladies:  Quilting for a good cause.  The LUV ladies make and donate quilts.

Sharing and Caring Hands:  St. Peter's is responsible for serving one breakfast a month at the Sharing and Caring Hands facility in Minneapolis.  Rob Anderson and Dale Ness are the drivers, and the High School and Middle School youth alternate every other month.  Parents are sometimes needed to help with the driving and serving.

Extended Ministries:  Extended Ministries is always busy!  Here are some of the things they do:  Food shelf awareness and collection, Donations to families in need, Crop walk help, help with the LAMP project (which helps in Alaskan villages), selling sweatshirts with St. Peter's logo on them, the Christmas House Tour, and more.

Fair Trade Coffee:  St. Peter's serves Equal Exchange fair trade coffee during the Friendship Forum hour (9:30 am Sunday mornings).  Fair trade means the farmers get a fair price for their crops. Equal Exchange has partnered with Lutheran World Relief.

Fair Trade Candy:  St. Peter's offers fair trade candy bars purchased from the Lutheran World Relief.  You can find these bars right before or after the Friendship Forum (9:30 am Sunday mornings).

Special Projects:  Call 645-8252 to see what special projects are happening.  For example, Les Lundell and Dale Snesrud did a spring clean-up and donated all of the proceeds to Extended Ministries.

Christmas Shoeboxes:  St. Peter's boxes fills Christmas shoeboxes for the elderly and for boys and girls.

School bags:  At the start of each school year, St. Peter's fills school bags full of school supplies for children who need these supplies.

St. Peter's sponsors Amie Koleh from Gambia and Jordan Suttles from the Southeast United States. We sponsor these childrean through the Christian Children's Fund.

The Maple Hills Housing Development:  St. Peter's will give a portion of its income towards this housing development built to help some of Northfield's homeless.

Pastor's Relief Fund:  This fund can be handed out by the pastor for emergency purpose.

Donations:  A portion of St. Peter's income is given to our synod and helps others within our community.  Another portion of our income is given to the ELCA and helps others within our community and the world.
