Holy Week is Here!
Join us this Holy Week via Facebook live at 6:30 or watch the replay on Facebook OR the website. Check the website for a pdf of the bulletin for tonight's worship service (or if you received a bulletin by mail) and follow along. It can be found under the "MINISTRIES" tab. Tomorrow is Maundy Thursday where we celebrate Jesus' last supper with the disciples. This evening our Lenten observance comes to an end, and we gather with Christians around the world to celebrate the Three Days of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Tonight we remember Christ’s last meal with his disciples, but the central focus is his commandment that we live out the promise embodied in this meal. As Jesus washed his disciples’ feet, so we are called to give and receive love in humble service to one another. Formed into a new body in Christ through this holy meal, we are transformed by the mercy we have received and carry it into the world. Departing worship in solemn silence, we anticipate the coming days. (sundaysandseasons) Friday, April 10, is Good Friday. Life and death stand side by side as we enter into Good Friday. In John’s passion account, Jesus reveals the power and glory of God, even as he is put on trial and sentenced to death. Standing with the disciples at the foot of the cross, we pray for the whole world in the ancient bidding prayer, as Christ’s death offers life to all. We gather in solemn devotion, but always with the promise that the tree around which we assemble is indeed a tree of life. We depart silently, and we anticipate the culmination of the Three Days in the Easter Vigil. (sundaysandseasons) The shortened April Parish Visitor Newsletter has been posted to our website in pdf form.
If you would still like a songbook, a spring devotional book, a bulletin or other, these resources have been added to our Little Library outside the office entrance along Winona Street. Go ahead and help yourself if you are out and about! We are hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday, April 15th (1-7pm). We need 1 or 2 more volunteers to help in the snack bar the day of the drive. Email Julie if you can help or have questions. Although it appears all of our appointments have been filled, see the blood drive site for other details. The Community Action Center needs helpers. Please follow this CAC link for more. Many thanks to all who have made extra efforts to continue to support St. Peter's financially - dropping off, mailing in, setting up automated giving. Your faithfulness is inspiring!
