All Saints Sunday (send in names of your loved one(s))
Greetings to all! This Sunday, November 1, we will celebrate All Saints Sunday! AND remember to switch the clockSaturday night for the end of daylight savings time. As many of you may know, worship is limited to on-line only this weekend. Our in-person worship has been put on a temporary hold while the covid numbers in Minnesota and Rice County have been on the rise. The single worshiper who was tested positive for covid that was announced for the closing of in-person worship last week is improving and seems to be an isolated case that is not related to worship at St. Peter's. Traditionally the congregation is invited to light a candle in memory of, and/or in honor of, a loved one on All Saints Sunday during worship. Please send your requests to Pastor David by Saturday 10/31 so they can be included in recognizing the saints in our lives. These names will be read during worship this Sunday and a candle will be lit in their honor. All are encouraged to light a candle at home for their loved ones as well. Join us online (facebook live) at 9:00 am or anytime thereafter on the website. We will monitor the situation and hope to reopen to in-person soon, safely. You can find the bulletin for November 1 on our website as well as the recording of the service. The music, a litany and the names of our folks who have been baptized or passed away since the last All Saints Sunday are printed in the back. Families with children are welcome to join a separate facebook live event for Family Worship at 10am. Sunday School and youth families can see the correspondence from Ms. Julie for the details. About worship All Saints Sunday 11/1: All Saints celebrates the baptized people of God, living and dead, who are the body of Christ. As November heralds the dying of the landscape in many northern regions, the readings and liturgy call us to remember all who have died in Christ and whose baptism is complete. At the Lord’s table we gather with the faithful of every time and place, trusting that the promises of God will be fulfilled and that all tears will be wiped away in the new Jerusalem.
