Easter Sunday 4/17
Happy [Good] Friday!
A worship service will be held tonight for Good Friday at 6:15pm.
This Sunday: Join us at 9 OR 10:30 am in person to rejoice in the risen Lord! You may also join online live on facebook or watch on the website afterwards. For joining online, have bread/crackers and wine/juice handy for communion. You can find this Sunday's bulletin and other announcements on the website. About Easter Sunday: “The last enemy to be destroyed is death,” Paul writes. Today Christ is risen, and we gather together with astonishment and joy. Christ is risen, and we have been set free from the bonds of death. Christ is risen, and we are forgiven. Christ is risen, and with the women at the tomb and Peter, we are amazed. Let us rejoice: Christ is risen indeed! Alleluia! (sundaysandseasons.com) Thank you to our volunteers and worship leaders for ushering, reading, singing, playing instruments, web streaming, helping with communion, and several others who make each Sunday - especially holidays - possible!
Offices will be closed Monday, April 18.
Sunday, April 24: Alleluia! Walk/Run. Next Sunday, April 24, the three ELCA congregations are partnering for a “moving” worship service (pun intended). We will begin in the parking lot at St. Peter’s at 10:00 with song, prayer, scripture and a brief explanation of our event. People can walk or jog on our designated route to St. John’s, and from there on to Bethel. The entire walk/run is 5K (3 miles). At 11, we will gather in the Bethel sanctuary for holy communion and the conclusion of our service.
Following the service, you are invited to fish tacos (in recognition of Jesus’ resurrection appearance on the beach). A free-will offering will be received for Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services. Shuttle service will be available for those desiring to do half the route or to return to St. Peter’s. Details and register HERE (or just show up!)
In addition to walkers/runners, we also need volunteers to help at intersections. A regular morning service will still take place at 9.
A new member class will take place Sundays, May 1 and 8 after the service in the Fireside Room with Pastor David. We will receive new members in worship on Sunday, May 15.
