Palm Sunday 4/10
This Sunday: Join us at 9am in person and bring the kids! Enjoy the palm processional to start the service and the beautiful choir cantata, “Come to the Cross and Remember." After the service, at 10, you can take a "Walk Through Holy Week." This is for all people young and old. You will have the opportunity to visit different settings around the building where you will hear and remember the stories of Jesus’ last days and death. Each setting will include an activity that will help to recall the profound event. All are welcome to participate and/or bring guests. This is also in place of Sunday School. You may also join online live on facebook or watch on the website afterwards. Stay for coffee and be social after worship. For joining online, you can find this Sunday's bulletin and other announcements on the website. About Palm Sunday: Today we follow Christ from triumphal entry to the cross, each waypoint of the journey marked by Jesus’ compassion for those who would betray, mock, accuse, or do violence to him. Though persecuted and beaten, Jesus the Son of God is not disgraced; instead, he asks forgiveness for those who put him to death. We have walked the Lenten pathway these forty days, each of us invited through baptism to “let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus.” We enter this holy week accompanying Jesus to the cross with both grief and thanksgiving in our hearts, trusting in God’s redeeming love. (sundaysandseasons.com) Thank you to our volunteers and worship leaders for ushering, reading, working in the kitchen, web streaming and to the worship choir and several others who have worked hard to present our Palm Sunday cantata.
Join us for Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services, both at 6:15pm this coming week. There will be no Wednesday evening programming except for music rehearsals.
We will celebrate Easter next Sunday, April 17! Worship services will be held at 9 and 10:30 am.
Offices will be closed Monday, April 18.
Sunday, April 24: Alleluia! Walk/Run. "A chance to celebrate the joy of Easter in an embodied way, a week after we’ve celebrated Easter in a glorious way." After the 9am service, at 10, meet in the St. Peter's parking lot for a blessing, then walk as a group to St. John's, and conclude at Bethel with communion and a fish taco fellowship. All ages welcome. Volunteers wanted (contact pastor David). This walk includes members from St. John's, Bethel and St. Peter's. Friends welcome. A shuttle will be available to ride back to St. Peter's.
A new member class will take place Sundays, May 1 and 8 after the service in the Fireside Room. Please don't hesitate to contact Pastor David with questions! Blessings, St. Peter's Lutheran Staff April Parish Visitor
