Welcome, 2021! Sunday, January 3rd: Join us online on facebook at 9:00 am or on the website for the second Sunday of Christmas. Holy communion will be a part of the service, so have juice/wine and bread/cracker ready. Also look for our 12 Days of Christmas/Lessons and Carols on the website and facebook. These are a series of 12 days - plus Epiphany worth of readings, music and inspiring words for the season. Epiphany, the last day, will be Wednesday the 6th, but the videos will remain for several weeks. There will be no family worship at 10am this Sunday, and will resume next week. A private celebration of life service for Les Lundell will take place Saturday, January 2 at 11am. The service will be broadcasted live from St. Peters on our facebook page, and will be available afterwords on the website. Readings for Sunday 1/3: Lesson: Ephesians 1:3-14 & Psalm 147:12-20 Gospel: John 1:1-18 Music for Sunday 1/3 Opening Hymns: "Angels We Have Heard on High" Gospel Acclamation: "Alleluia" Hymn of the Day: "Love Has Come" Closing Hymn: "Good Christian Friends, Rejoice" Special music will be provided by a string quartet: Francesca Anderegg, violin; Deonne Gray, violin; Charles Gray, viola; Cameron Gray, cello. Richard Collman will play the organ. Pete Pedersen will read. Terra Wierson is on livestream. About worship Sunday 1/3: Within the gospel reading’s profound words lies the simple message that God is revealed in a human person. Though we may try to understand how the Word existed with God from the beginning of time, the wonder we celebrate at Christmas is that the Word continues to dwell among us. Christ comes among us in the gathered assembly, the scriptures, the waters of new birth, and the bread and the wine. Through these ordinary gifts we receive the fullness of God’s grace and truth. (sundaysandseasons) Thank you all for a terrific year - the best it could have been given the difficulties we all experienced. Cheers and Blessings for a better 2021!
